What a woman brings to the table depends on the table

It seems wherever you look on social media today you’ll find clips from pseudo male empowerment podcasts giving all sorts of dating and financial advice to men. I say pseudo-male empowerment because the hosts of these podcasts are either bitter, angry men or men who are no more connected to the lifestyle of the average man than the Kardashians are to the average woman.

One of the hot topic questions on these podcasts recently has been to ask women what they bring to the table. Why would a man want to be with you if he could get all of the things that you offer without a commitment? To be fair, women have been asking the same of men for decades but this isn’t a one-size-fits-all question and it doesn’t have a simple answer. It’s not simple because the answer depends on the table.

If a man’s job is to build the table, it’s the woman’s job to set the table. Using that analogy, you wouldn’t put your fine china on a picnic table and you shouldn’t use plastic silverware at a formal dinner. So, the question for a man should be what kind of table you want to build and what type of woman would be the best choice to set it for you.

Realistically, building the table is the same as building the household. It should provide some level of stability, safety, and security. Setting the table is the same as civilizing…
