Dating Trends for 2024

Ever since relationships and dating went high-tech you’ve almost had to consult Urban Dictionary and learn a secret handshake to know what the trendy new dating terms mean. To those of us who favor a more traditional way of finding love and relationships, this all seems a bit superficial, kitschy, and quite frankly, stupid but knowing the trends and terminology can be our weapon against misunderstandings and regrettable matches.

The dating site Plenty of Fish comes up with an annual list of dating trends that they expect to see in the coming year along with terms that create to describe these trends. As off the wall as some of it seems there are people out there who practically live and die by this terminology. Terms like Netflix and Chill were coined in much the same way and are now as engrained in our language as old-fashioned figures of speech and colloquialisms like “The pot calling the kettle black” or “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.”
